a reprieve
when the dust has settled
when radioactive isotopes have
blasted their last
when rivers of chemicals
no longer scream through veins
this is remission
the battle is won
for now.

Happy Sunday, to those who don’t celebrate the Christian holiday. Happy Easter/Zombie Jesus day, to those who do celebrate.
I’m not feeling chatty today.
B, this is gorgeous and my every prayer, every day. The concept of “remission” in terms of the earth’s condition is inspired, to say the least. Gaia is wounded to the core, literally, by humankind.
Oh, and I do celebrate Easter, but I don’t think it’s any different from any other day. As a matter of fact, a lot of Christians will be offended by my poem today, so take a look:

Peace, Amy
Oh thank you Amy 🙂 Er, I just wrote it about someone in my life mostly done cancer treatments but sorta worried that it’ll come back- straightforward and kinda boring. I like your interpretation much better.
This is why I LOVE poetry! The number of meanings it can bring is so much more than I put in there- a different interpretation for each person, each time they read it! *happy dance*
Read your poem, loved it 😀
